A Man arrested with explosives

A man has been arrested by STF intelligence officers with the explosives illegally stored. A 39-year-old man was arrested yesterday (09) on a tip off received by the STF at two locations in Mirigama with the explosives illegally stored without a license. Further questioning of the arrested suspect revealed that he had obtained the explosives and sold them to other parties for money by presenting false information. Among the explosives seized were 81 sticks of water gel weighing about 130 grams, 75 kilograms of ammonia nitrate, 107 non-electric detonators and 360 meters of service thread, the STF said. The Mirigama Police are conducting further investigations.

Scenes of a crocodile dragging a dead body into the Diyawanna Oya was recorded on a mobile phone. The incident took place in the Kimbulawala area in Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte yesterday afternoon. The person who recorded the incident says that the body of the crocodile was left in the water under the bridge of the crocodiles. The government has decided to stop importing organic fertilizer from China after identifying harmful microorganisms in two samples of organic fertilizer samples to be imported from China.A statement issued by the Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka stated that the Sri Lanka National Plant Quarantine Service had come to a hasty conclusion that the organic fertilizer samples imported by the Chinese company contained harmful microorganisms. State Minister of Drug Supplies and Regulation Prof. Channa Jayasumana says that it has been decided to give the third dose of Pfizer vaccine to all persons above the age of 20 years.
