The trade unions of the CEB state that another agreement is to be signed regarding the power sector in the country. The CEO of the New Fortress Company of America is scheduled to visit Sri Lanka for this purpose, says the Ceylon Electricity Board Joint Trade Union Alliance. The alliance says the new agreement is an extension of a recent agreement with the company. If the relevant agreement is not revealed to the country, a massive trade union struggle will be waged, said Ranjan Jayalal of the UPFA.

He also said that the loss per liter of diesel is Rs. 31.46. He pointed out that the last time fuel prices were increased, the price of a barrel of petrol in the world was $ 78.8 and today it has risen to $ 92. Due to this situation, the loss of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation as at August 31 is Rs. 70 billion, he said.
