India’s position on Sri Lanka is released

India says that it will continue to help Sri Lanka as much as possible.

Indian High Commissioner Gopal Bagle said that Sri Lanka will continue to help important sectors of the economy and especially encourage long-term investments.

The High Commissioner added that the aim is to bring the Sri Lankan economy back to a state of recovery.

The Indian High Commission has issued this announcement in response to media reports that India will no longer provide financial assistance to Sri Lanka.

To recover from the economic crisis in Sri Lanka, the value of the bilateral aid given to Sri Lanka so far this year is 4 billion dollars.

Apart from this, India has spent about 3.5 billion dollars for bilateral development cooperation projects.
