The Ceylon Workers Congress (CWC) has decided to hold discussions with the Minister in charge of the subject Bandula Gunawardena to provide food items to estate workers through Sathosa at concessionary prices in the face of the rising cost of living in the country, the party’s treasurer and Nuwara Eliya District MP Marudapandi Rameshwaran said

This was stated by MP Marudapandi Rameshwaran at a special media briefing held at the Ceylon Workers Congress headquarters in Kotagala on the 23rd.

Speaking at a media briefing held with the participation of the Secretary-General of the Ceylon Workers’ Congress and Minister of State Jeevan Thondaman, Marudapandi Rameshwaran further stated that India is the closest country to Sri Lanka and that fuel prices are higher in India than Sri Lanka.

He said that in the face of controlling the covid 19 virus, the present government had launched a massive program to protect the people of the country from the virus and the development of the country was carried out under such a program.

MP Marudapandi Rameshwaran said that the increase in the cost of living was temporary and that there was no major economic crisis in the country as stated by the Opposition.
