The Government Medical Officers’ Association states that there is a risk of 6000-10000 corona deaths in Sri Lanka next September.
The Secretary of the Association Dr. Senal Fernando said that there is a possibility of a fifth corona wave in Sri Lanka which is more dangerous than the previous ones.
He said that the process of mutation in the virus could be more severe and there could be more resistance to vaccines.
He made these comments at a media briefing held in Colombo.
