Queen Elizabeth II’s death was concealed for three hours, death certificate reveals

Queen Elizabeth II died of old age, her death certificate has revealed.

The coroner’s certificate, published by National Records of Scotland on Thursday, said the late British queen died at 3:10 p.m.

The Queen died at Balmoral Castle in Balmoral, Scotland on 8 September, 3.20 hours later at 6.30pm, the palace announced.

The cause of death was listed as old age. The document was signed by the Queen’s daughter, Princess Anne. Britain’s longest-reigning Queen has died peacefully at the age of 96. Her death sparked a period of national mourning.

King Charles III, who ascended the throne after his mother’s death, was officially announced as the new head of the United Kingdom on September 10.
