Former Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage mentions that the profit of a large-scale rice mill owner in Sri Lanka is one hundred billion rupees.
Accordingly, he said that his profit in the two seasons of the year is one hundred billion rupees. But he said in the parliament that he pays about 900,000 rupees as income tax.
He further mentioned that four large-scale mill owners in this country are making money in this way. He made these comments while attending the budget debate in the Parliament.
