Sri Lanka’s stock market plummeted

The Colombo Stock Exchange All Share Price Index fell by 494.74 points, or 4.88%, to 9,647.55 points at the close of trading yesterday (29).

Accordingly, this is the first time since October 25 last year that the All Share Price Index has fallen below the 10,000 unit mark.

Meanwhile, the S “P Sri Lanka 20 Index fell 167.12 points to 3,338.03 at the close of trading. In particular, the S “P Sri Lanka 20 Index fell 05% from the previous day, with a 30-minute suspension from 1.10 pm to 1.40 pm yesterday.

The total turnover of the Colombo Stock Exchange yesterday was 2.70 billion rupees. The total market capitalization was Rs. 4,166.02 billion.

At the end of last week (25th) it was Rs. 4,552.70 billion. Accordingly, the Colombo Stock Exchange has lost Rs. 386.67 billion in the last two days (28 and 29) alone.
