146 billion printed in the first 25 days of this year its 6 billion a day

The Central Bank of Sri Lanka has reprinted 26 billion rupees.

Accordingly, the Central Bank of Sri Lanka has issued 146 billion new currency notes in 2022.

 That is to say, measures have been taken to print nearly 6 billion rupees a day for a period of 25 days.

Tissa Attanayake, a Member of Parliament for the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) says that three and a half trillion rupees have been newly printed under new government.

 He said that there is information that there are no sheets to print the rupee and there are no dollars to import those notes.

 He said this while he was speaking to the media after a ceremony.
