Rice from Myanmar to control rice prices in the country

The government has decided to import rice to stabilize market prices.

Accordingly, the Cabinet approved the import of 100,000 metric tons of rice last September.

 Accordingly, Sri Lanka has decided to import 20,000 metric tons of rice from Myanmar under a government-to-government agreement between the Government of Sri Lanka and the Government of Myanmar. Its metric ton is priced at the US $ 460.
