Due to travel restrictions for 4 days across the country The country’s economy has suffered a loss of over Rs 600 billion , State Minister of Finance Ajith Nivard Cabraal states.

The daily loss to GDP due to the ban would exceed Rs. 15 billion accordingly, it is estimated that 150 billion rupees would have been lost if the country had been closed for ten days, he said.

He further said that as Sri Lanka is a country with a small economy, it is very important to move towards corona management without closing the country and it is the people, not the country, that should be shut at this time.
