2021 State Vesak Festival going to be held at Nagadeepa Rajamaha Viharaya

During a discussion held at temple trees yesterday Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksha instruct to held the state vesak festival at Nagadeepa Rajamaha Viharaya in Jaffna. They are going to involve 65 temples and 35 Buddhist dhamma schools in North Eastern province in the organisation process. Prime Minister’s official statement state that this year the festival is going to celebrate as a collaboration of whole religions in Sri lanka.

SLFP decided to reject the final report of the easter attack commission

The executive council meeting of the sri lanka Freedom Party held yesterday. They decided to reject the final report of the Ester attack commission at meeting. The report has charged Many politicians including former president Maithripala Sirisena, former National Intelligence Service chief Sisira Mendis, former Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando, former IGP Pujith Jayasundara and former State Intelligence Service chief Nilantha Jayawardena for their crime of negligence and failure to take action and perform duties on the Easter attack. So report of the Presidential Commission will be taken up for the debate after discussing at the next meeting of the Committee on Parliamentary Business. Also they elected officials for their party at yesterday’s meeting as following ; Former president Maithripala Srisena Re appointed as the Chairman. State Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara reappointed as the general secretary of the party. Ministers Nimal Siripala de Silva Mahinda Amaraweera and prof Rohana Lakshman apiyadasa appointed as Senior Vice Presidents of the SLFP. Minister of state Lasantha Alagiyawanna reappointed as the treasure of the party. Minister of state Duminda Dissanayake re appointed as the national organizer of the SLFP. Also 10 duputy chairman posts and 8 duputy secretary posts were elected yesterday.

21 Countries Support Sri lanka While 15 against at the UNHRC

During an Interactive Dialogue at the United Nations Human Rights Council 21 countries supported Sri lanka while 15 countries against the position of the Sri Lankan government. Fifteen countries including Canada, Uk , Norway, Germany and USA spoke against Sri lanka.UK states about millitarization of government functions and harassments of civil rights. Also they mentioned about the mandatory cremation policy in sri lanka. Canada also had the same concerns while Australia mentioned about the freedom in media and to ensure its legal framework including counter-terrorism legislation is in line with international standards. How ever countries like India and Japan took neutral positions for the factors. Also 21 countries including China, Russia, Pakistan,North korea, Iran, Philippines,Vietnam, Syria, Azerbaijan, Nepal, Maldives, Cuba, Nicaragua, Belarus, Eritrea, Cambodia, Gabon, Egypt and Laos supported Sri lanka.

GMOA Request President Gotabaya Rajapaksha to Remove Unfair charges

The Government Medical Officers Association issued a statement that some banks were imposing a fine even for the early settlement of loan. Also they request President Gotabaya Rajapaksha to remove those unfair charges when settling loans. Apart from that they pointed out about the interest rate they are charging for the pending loans even at the early dates before the deadline. So they request to the president to concern about the early settlement fees and to reduce the interest rate.

Google and Facebook has to pay for content in Australia

For the first time in the world Australia has made a new law for google and Facebook to pay for Australian news contents.These two major United States brands were opposed this news code legislation. Also Facebook has blocked all the news contents from Australia last week but reversed their decision after discussing with the government.law has been passed after the discussion by making new amendments that make Facebook and google not subjecting to the code.But now both the company’s committed to pay sums to Australian Publishers outside the code.

The report of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry appointed to probe the April 21st Attacks sent to the Attorney General Coordinating Officer to the Attorney General Counsel Nishara Jayaratne states that Volume 01 of the report of the presidential commission of inquiry appointed to probe the April 21st Attacks has sent to the Attorney General today 25th of February 2021. Also Attorney General requested all proceedings new documents and material of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry pertaining to the Easter Attacks that were submitted to the Presidential Secretariat ( volume 2 – 5 ). The report was tabled in th parliment today by the ruling party.

Police has charged him for posing a threat to the security of a visiting dignitary to the country. He has been released from the police bail later.

Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage Accuted by Colombo High Court Today

Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage acquitted by Colombo High Court for misappropriation of the trade union fund of a trade union called Sri Lanka Nidahas Kamkaru Congress. In May 2017 Colombo High Court place an indictments for alleged criminal breach of trust of Rs.3.9 million funds. Attorney General filed indictment against him in regarding this issue

Pakisthan prime minister Imran Khan arrived to sri lanka yesterday for a official state visit of two days. Yesterday he met Sri lankan prime ministers Mahinda Rajapaksha and today 25th February he is going to meet President Gotabaya Rajapaksha at presidential secretariat. Also Fifteen Muslim parliamentarians met Pakisthani prime minister Imran Khan yesterday at shangriLa hotel colombo. The parliment ministers talk the issue of burial of Muslim Covid 19 victims in sri lanka reprecenting the sri lankam Muslim community. Sri lankan muslim congress leaderRauff Hakeem tweeted saying ;;” He expressed confidence in the capacity of our Leaders to improve harmony among all Sri Lankans and address their citizens grievances with view to foster goodwill among nations,” Sri lankan government yet not decided to give permission for burial of the remains of the Muslim covid 19 victims in Sri lanka.
