Iraj Weeraratne has resigned from the board of directors of the National Youth Services Council

Popular musician Iraj Weeraratne has resigned from the board of directors of the National Youth Services Council. He has stated that he has taken this decision based on some of the essential personal matters that have been used in the past,while addressing a letter to Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa. The letter states that he is ready to work for the country whenever possible and that he is ready to provide his services for that.

The government has decided to limit the Rs.10000  relief pack. Accordingly, it has been decided to provide this ration only to low income families with effect from today. The Presidential Task Force on Economic Revitalization and Poverty Alleviation has issued a new circular announcing this. It also states that the decision was taken by the Cabinet.

Sri Lanka will have to face severe fifth corona wave soon – The Government Medical Officers’ Association

The Government Medical Officers’ Association states that there is a risk of 6000-10000 corona deaths in Sri Lanka next September.  The Secretary of the Association Dr. Senal Fernando said that there is a possibility of a fifth corona wave in Sri Lanka which is more dangerous than the previous ones. He said that the process of mutation in the virus could be more severe and there could be more resistance to vaccines. He made these comments at a media briefing held in Colombo.

Senior DIG Ajith Rohana has escaped from the dangerous situation

It is reported that Senior DIG Ajith Rohana, who was receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit for a corona infection, has escaped from the dangerous situation. Accordingly, he has been removed from the Intensive Care Unit and transferred to a normal ward. Ajith Rohana is receiving treatment at a leading private hospital in Colombo for a corona infection. He also served as the Police Spokesman from the beginning of the Corona epidemic until recently.

Former Minister Mangala Samaraweera has passed away.

Former Minister Mangala Samaraweera has passed away. He passed away while receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit of a private hospital in Colombo after contracting the corona virus. He had been receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit for several days. The last rites will be performed according to the health guidelines. He was 65 years old at the time of his death.
