Tests in Sri Lanka detect only 15.8% of infected people,and there are more than five times as many as those diagnosed- Ravi Kumudesh

Ravi Kumudesh, President of the Association of Health Professionals, says that there are five times as many infected people in the country as there are detectives. He also says that 80% of the possible consequences of closing the country have been damaged due to the misconceptions of the Ministry of Health. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), tests in Sri Lanka detect only 15.8% of infected people,and there are more than five times as many as those diagnosed. He also points out that less than 5% of treatment essentials die before  admitted to hospital can be found due to the policy of not finding patients. He said epidemiologists and politicians seemed to be misleading the president, adding that the government would not be able to cope if the number of infections increased due to the wrong policies of the Ministry of Health.

26 out of 121 tests infected with corona in Nawalapitiya

Lalith Koliyam, Administrative Public HealthInspector, Pasbage Korale Medical Officer of Health said that 121 close associates who had been placed under quarantine at the Jayatilake Stadium in Nawalapitiya had been subjected to rapid antigen testing and 26 new patients had been identified. He said that the 26 infected were residents of Nawalapitiya, Warakawa, Rambukpitiya, Wewegama, Westwall and Soysakelle areas and that the 26 new infected had been referred to quarantine treatment centers. The administrative public health inspector said that a 4-year-old child and a monk were among the infected.

Srict travel restrictions should be imposed untill 18 of next month- WHO

According to an independent technical expert committee appointed by the World Health Organization’s Sri Lanka office, strict restrictions until the 18th of next month could save between 7,500 and 10,000 lives. The panel recommended that immediate action should be taken to extended the current restrictions untill September 18 to save lives. According to the committee’s latest report more than 90 percent of the samples tested so far show that the delta strain of the new corona virus has spread in the Western Province as well as other provinces in the country. The Independent Technical Expert Committee, chaired by the Sri Lanka Office of the World Health Organization (WHO), met yesterday and released its new report, which includes key observations, technical and recommendations for controlling the pandemic.

BTS was asked about these allegations In an interview with Billboard Magazine. Its leader replied saying,“It’s a fair question. But if there is a conversation inside Billboard about what being No. 1 should represent, then it’s up to them to change the rules and make streaming weigh more on the ranking. Slamming us or our fans for getting to No. 1 with physical sales and downloads, I don’t know if that’s right. It just feels like we’re easy targets because we’re a boy band, a K-pop act, and we have this high fan loyalty.” He further said that” I don’t think we could ever be part of the mainstream in us and I don’t want it either. Our ultimate goal is to do a massive stadium tour there. That’s it. answering the question of whether they join the US mainstream.
