At the request of Vijitha Weragoda, State Minister of Dhamma School Pirivenas and Bhikku Education Central Provincial Deputy,with Director of Education Pirivena Kiridigalle Gnanaratana Thero And Sri Padasthanadhipati Sabaragamuwa Provincial Chief Sanghanayake, Uva Wellassa University Chancellor Bengamuwe Dhammadinna Nayaka Thero officiated the Pirith discussion. Also the Bhikkus at the Bogambara Bodhi Garden conducted the Pirith Chanting with the assistance of the Army and Nallathanniya Police.

Electrical equipment prices go up sharply due to new restrictions.

However, he said that the CID had conducted an investigation into the incident and would continue to do so. Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has left the island this morning for a European tour.  According to the Ministry of External Affairs, he left to deliver a keynote address at the inaugural session of one of the oldest universities in Europe. He is scheduled to leave for Italy after the lecture.. Meanwhile, Archbishop Malcolm Ranjith Cardinal recently said that the purpose of the Prime Minister’s visit to Italy was to meet with the Pope and conceal the truth about the Easter attack. However, the Prime Minister’s Media Unit and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that no meeting with the Pope would take place during the Prime Minister’s visit.

The Governor of the Central Bank preparing to resign from the post

It is reported that Prof. WD Lakshman is preparing to resign from the post of Governor of the Central Bank. It is learned that his resignation letter is being prepared to be sent to President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa. Following his resignation, he will be promoted to a higher position in the International Monetary Fund. Meanwhile, Minister of State Ajith Nivard Cabraal will be appointed as the Governor of the Central Bank, government sources said.

The Prime Minister’s Office and the Army are using Ayurvedic medicines for the corona virus but no one is saying this openly – Western Province Ayurvedic Commissioner

Western Province Ayurvedic Commissioner Mala Perera says that everyone including the Prime Minister’s Office, the Ministry of Health and the Army are using Ayurvedic medicines for the corona virus. But she also said that no one is saying this openly. She added that there are about 40,000 people currently receiving Ayurvedic treatment for corona. She said this in an interview on an youtube channel.

Decisive discussion on extending curfew is due today

The decision on whether or not to lift the current curfew and travel restrictions is due today. The decision will be taken at the Corona Suppression Task Force chaired by the President. However, the Director General of Health Services states that strict health guidelines should be formulated to be implemented after the country is opened. Meanwhile, several medical associations, including the Sri Lanka Medical Association, have called for the travel restrictions to be implemented for another week or two.
