Kumar Sangakkara tells foreign media that he is very disappointed about the Sri Lanka Cricket.

Kumar Sangakkara, the former captain of the Sri Lankan cricket team, says that the way the players of the Sri Lankan cricket team behave on and off the field is very disappointing. He further said that the main reason for the decline of cricket in Sri Lanka was the weak situation in the local cricket tournament. He added that if Sri Lanka wants to emerge as a successful team in the world, the way international players are created in local competitions must change. He said this while participating in a televised discussion for Sky TV in England after the first ODI between Sri Lanka and England.

The fall of cricket in Sri Lanka happened because of Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene- Arjuna Ranatunga

Former Sri Lanka captain Arjuna Ranatunga says that the fall of cricket in Sri Lanka was due to Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene. He also says that cricket has collapsed due to Mahela Sangakkara not forming a second tier during his tenure and points out that they did not play for the country but only for their records. He also says that the present Minister of Sports, Namal Rajapaksa, has also failed when it comes to uplifting Sri Lankas cricket. He made these comments in an interview with a youtube channel.

Online retail company sues for illegally selling NMRA unapproved hand sanitisers

According to the Extraordinary Gazette Notification No. 2216/33 issued on 25th February 2021, manufacturers of hand sanitisers should register with the National Drug Regulatory Authority (NMRA) and mention that registration number on the sanitiser package. In contrast, the manufacture, import, distribution, sale and display of sanitisers are prohibited in Sri Lanka. However, one of the leading online retailers in Sri Lanka has sold NMRA-unapproved sanitisers.. The Puttalam Consumer Affairs Authority has raided the company and is taking legal action against the company and a case is to be filed in the Chilaw Magistrate’s Court. The Puttalam Consumer Affairs Authority further stated that raids carried out throughout the district regarding sanitizers that are against such standards.

Sri Lanka’s banking system is at great risk- Fitch rating

Fitch Ratings cites Sri Lanka’s banking system as a source of concern. Their latest report states that this is due to the large number of securities issued by the government in foreign exchange and the weakening of capital. The report states that, one-third of the assets of the Sri Lankan banking system will be open to the government, and that the foreign exchange market will be opened up through the acquisition of government securities by local banks by the end of 2020.

Five more grama niladhaari divisions isolated
