Central Bank decided to release $ 50 million for essential food items

The Central Bank of Sri Lanka has released US $ 50 million to release essential food items stranded in the Port of Colombo.

The money will be given to importers through two state banks.

The Governor of the Central Bank, Ajith Nivard Cabraal, said that the Central Bank of Sri Lanka was ready to provide more cash if needed to release the essential goods stranded at the Port of Colombo.
