The late former Prime Minister S.W.R.D. Bandaranaike’s 62nd death anniversary is today (26).
Founder of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party S.W.R.D. Bandaranaike was elected the fourth Prime Minister of Sri Lanka in the 1956 General Elections, giving a landslide victory to the Sri Lanka Freedom Party-led People’s United Front.
Mr. Bandaranaike served for four years with the concept of the Five Great Forces of monks, doctors, teachers, farmers and workers.
