A suspect was arrested for selling film based on the life of former LTTE leader Velupillai Prabhakaran

Nuwara Eliya Divisional Intelligence has arrested two persons on suspicion of downloading and selling an Indian Tamil film based on the life of former LTTE leader Velupillai Prabhakaran. .

A man and his accomplice have been arrested for operating a business premises at the Nuwara Eliya main bus stand.

It has been revealed that the film belonging to the main suspect will be taken to a shop in the Cargills building complex in Nuwara Eliya in the same manner and the film will be put in pen drives for a sum of Rs. 50.00.

The two suspects are residents of the Hawa Eliya area in Nuwara Eliya, police said.

The two suspects are to be produced before the Nuwara Eliya Magistrate’s Court on charges of possessing videos that are detrimental to public safety.
