The Sri Lanka Medical Officers Association states that even a healthy person can die if infected with the virus strain that spreads in the third wave of the corona.

Dr Upul Dissanayake, a specialist at the Colombo National Hospital, says that the majority of those who died at the first and second rallies in Corona had suffered from various other illnesses but this time even young people who do not have any disease are more likely to die early due to the infection of virus and respiratory problems.

He said these at a press conference held in Colombo.
