Economic Crisis in Sri Lanka-A special counter at the airport for the convenience of workers going abroad

The Immigration Department says that a special counter will be opened at the airport for the convenience of workers going abroad.

The department said that this would enable the Sri Lankan workers going abroad to carry out their work promptly without any hindrance through the said window.

Meanwhile, the Sri Lankan remit application, which has improved facilities, will be introduced today (26) to Sri Lankans working abroad, says the Foreign Service Bureau.

Its media spokesperson, Deputy General Manager, Mr. Gamini Senerath Yapa said that the use of this application will help reduce the sending of foreign money to Sri Lanka through informal channels.

He said that Sri Lankans living abroad will be informed about this by the Central Bank Governor today.
