A 24 years old mother was arrested for assulting her 9 months old baby in Navaladi area jaffna yesterday (March 2) and baby was taken to police custody.

Mother and child will kept in probationary care for 9th of March untill the forensic report on the babies injuries submited to the magistrate.

Mother and baby had arrived sri lanka from Kuwait a month ago and she and her husbund was working there. Her husband is still working in Kuwait.

Mother had confessed to the police that she is depressed because her husbund is not giving the money for living.
