Notice to foreign job candidates: Beware of fraudsters pretending to provide jobs in countries like Poland, Romania, Israel, South Korea, Japan, Malaysia and Maldives

The Foreign Employment Bureau is making a special notification to Sri Lankans who are looking for jobs in countries like Poland, Romania, Israel, South Korea, Japan, Malaysia and Maldives.

The bureau informs us not to get caught by people who cheat money by claiming that jobs are provided in such countries

Due to the current situation in the country, because a large number of people are interested in going for foreign jobs, the complaints received by the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau are increasing day by day regarding fraudsters who get money by posting advertisements on social media and websites.

The Bureau further informs the people to find out whether the said organization is a legal entity holding a license from the Bureau before giving passport or money to any person or organization to go for a foreign job.

The public can inquire about the legitimacy of employment agencies by visiting the Bureau’s official website www.slbfe.lk or by calling the Bureau’s 24-hour information center hotline number 1989.
