Economic Crisis in Sri Lanka-Food supply to patients in hospitals will also be limited

The All Ceylon Nurses Association states that in addition to the shortage of medicines, getting the daily meals given to patients and health workers in some hospitals has become a big problem.

The president of the association said that due to the lack of proper payment to the food suppliers, the supply of raw materials, eggs, meat and fish required for the preparation of food, fruits, soups and porridges to the hospitals is limited.

He said that even Colombo National Hospital, which is the largest hospital in Sri Lanka, has this problem and said that in order to cure diseases, patients should be given nutritious food as well as medicine.

He further said that the authorities should pay attention to this situation and control the situation by paying the arrears to the suppliers.
