Heavy rains exceeding 100 mm in several provinces in Sri Lanka

According to the Department of Meteorology, some places in South, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, North-West and North-Central provinces may experience heavy rains exceeding 100 mm.

In issuing a warning about heavy rains, the department said that many parts of the island may experience rain or thundershowers in the evening or at night.

The Department of Meteorology informs the people to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunder showers
