The Department of Allergy, Immunology and Cell Biology of the University of Sri Jayawardenepura says that monkeypox, which is currently spreading all over the world, is likely to come to Sri Lanka as well.
Its director Professor Chandima Jeevandara points out that it is easy to identify patients because the symptoms of this disease are well exposed.
With infected people from 75 countries, the World Health Organization has declared a global emergency about monkeypox.
