The economic crisis in Sri Lanka- IOC petrol stations restrict fuel distribution to ‘Industrial Area’ only

Lanka Indian Oil Company has taken steps to limit the daily fuel distribution given the fuel shortage in the country.

The managing director of the company, Manoj Gupta, has stated that the distribution of fuel from Sri Lanka IOC filling stations is limited to the ‘industrial sector’ only.

He has said that this situation will continue till next Monday (11) and it is expected to start providing fuel to the vehicles that were previously issued fuel from Monday morning.

At present, fuel distribution from Cipetco is  completely stopped

But Minister Kanchana said that a diesel ship is coming today. Both Cipetco and IOC petrol filling stations have stopped dispensing fuel to normal vehicles, so traffic has been hampered.
