A series of instructions introduced to all government institutions to use electricity and fuel sparingly – Ministry of Public Services Provincial Councils and Local Government

The Ministry of Public Service, Provincial Councils and Local Government has decided to issue a series of instructions to all government institutions to use electricity and fuel sparingly.

 Its secretary, J.J. Mr. Ratnasiri said that the instructions were issued at the request of the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka.

He said that under this, the use of air conditioners and unnecessary lights in government institutions should be minimized as much as possible.

 Government vehicles are also advised not to use fuel for non-essential journeys.
