The Sri Lanka-Australia Twenty20 tournament begins today

The five-match Sri Lanka-Australia Twenty20 series begins today. The first match will be played in Sydney.

A 20-member Sri Lanka squad has been named for the tournament. Dasun Shanaka is the leader of the team.

Charith Asalanka has been appointed to the post due to the non-inclusion of vice captain Dhananjaya de Silva in the team.

Danushka Gunetileke, who was released last month after being banned from playing cricket for a year after being accused of violating a bio-bubble during last year’s tour of England, has also been included in the squad.

Romesh Ratnayake will also be the acting coach of the Sri Lankan team during the tour of Australia. Lasith Malinga is the strategic bowling coach of the Sri Lankan team.

The second match between the two teams will be played in Sydney next Sunday. The third match will be played at Manuka Oval on the 15th and the fourth and fifth matches will be played on the 18th and 20th at Melbourne Stadium respectively.
