LTTE photo displayed of an army vehicle on Independence Day

It is reported that a photograph of LTTE fighters was displayed and decorated in an army display car carrying war heroes during the recent Sri Lanka Independence Day parade.

War Heroes” were photographed around this vehicle, which was given a prominent place in the parade depicting Sri Lankan Army militants.

 One photo shows an LTTE soldier fighting against the Sri Lankan Army in the September 2008 battle at Wannerikkulam. The photo, which was allegedly released by the LTTE, was posted on the TamilNet website at the time.

The Sri Lankan Army did not know what this photo was and had included it in the war heroes’ display car. An error occurred while selecting the photo. The photo was leaked by the Tamil Guardian website and has since come to the attention of the Sri Lankan military.

The President was accompanied by the Prime Minister and other dignitaries in the parade. Below is the LTTE photo that was published in second place among the war heroes’ photos of the army vehicle
