The Sri Lanka Railway Station Masters’ Association has resumed an emergency strike just hours before the end of the strike launched yesterday.
The trade union action has been resumed alleging that the General Manager of the Railways has taken action to suspend the Vice President of the union.
Accordingly, the Station Masters have abruptly resigned from their duties this afternoon.
The General Secretary of the union, Kasun Chamara, said that they had taken this trade union action against the arbitrary suspension of the Vice President of his union.
