People’s Bank today decided to pay US $ 6.9 million to the company that owned the controversial Chinese fertilizer ship.
People’s Bank stated that due to the lifting of the enjoining order imposed by the Colombo Commercial High Court, it was decided to pay the amount with the ship.
Although the fertilizer ship was not handed over to Sri Lanka, it was stated in court that an agreement had been reached between the two parties to return the standard fertilizer.
Accordingly, the money is to be paid to the relevant company through the People’s Bank.
