Australia’s first omicron death reported

The first death has been reported in Australia due to an infection with a new genus of Omicron.

A man who was receiving treatment at an adult care centre in western Sydney has died, foreign media reported.

A few days after the person became infected with the covid virus, he was diagnosed with the Omicron covid strain.

After his condition worsened, he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the relevant care center and died there.

According to foreign reports, the deceased had completed the covid vaccination.
