Another police officer who was receiving treatment for injuries sustained in a shooting at the Thirukkovil police station has died.



A police sergeant who was admitted to the Ashraf Hospital in Kalmunai with serious injuries has succumbed to his injuries, police said.



The death toll from the shooting at the Thirukkovil police station has risen to four.



The OIC of the Thirukkovil Police Station and another police officer are receiving further treatment following the shooting, police said.



 The shooting had been carried out by a sergeant attached to the Thirukkovil police station and he had later surrendered to the Athimale police station.
