A Covid death left a village helpless in Sri Lanka

A 77-year-old woman from the Minipuragama area in the Okkampitiya police area in Buttala had died while receiving treatment at the Moneragala General Hospital recently. Later, the body of the deceased woman was released from the hospital to the family members for burial.

Accordingly, the body was prepared and brought home. Hours later, the hospital authorities informed the family members that the death was due to a covid infection.

Later, health officials arrived and took steps to take the body out of the funeral home according to quarantine rules.

It has been revealed that the people in the house were very helpless and more than two hundred people had already come to the house from time to time.

Because the health officials have taken steps to quarantine the people in the house and the people of the area have been severely affected by the incident.
