With the removal of the Gazette, Repressed Inflation has become Open Inflation. If it is to be limited to a one-time price increase, the Central Bank should refrain from printing money ,Former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, Dr. W.A. Wijewardene said.
Analyzing the current inflationary economic environment, he added that if the Central Bank continues to print money, it will inevitably turn into hyperinflation he said
Dr. Wijewardene further added that the same applies to the exchange rate.
