The European Union is ready to provide any assistance to organic farming in Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka’s Representative to the European Union Jenny Correia Nunes told Agriculture Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage that she was ready to provide any assistance needed for organic farming in Sri Lanka.

She said this while she was speaking at a meeting with representatives of the European Union, the World Bank and the World Food Program at the Ministry of Agriculture.

Wimlandra Saran, Representative of the World Food Program (WFP) addressed the gathering and drew the attention of the Minister to the food security of the country.

World Bank Representative Andrew D. Mr. Goodland said he was pleased with the successful implementation of World Bank-assisted projects.
