President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has left for the island this morning.
According to the Presidential Media Unit, the President left for the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly in the United States.
The conference will begin on the 21st in New York, USA. The President is also scheduled to hold bilateral talks with several other heads of state at the summit.
