Ajith Nivard Cabraal, Minister of State for Finance, Capital Markets and Public Enterprise Reforms is due to resign from his post as Minister of State and National List Member of Parliament.
His resignation letter will be handed over to the Secretary General of Parliament this morning. Thereafter he is to be appointed as the Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.
Meanwhile, it is reported that former Member of Parliament Jayantha Ketagoda will be re-appointed to fill the vacancy.
