According to unofficial sources, former MP Jayantha Ketagoda will be re-appointed to fill the vacancy if Ajith Nivard Cabraal resigns from the post of Member of Parliament as well as the post of Minister of State for Finance.
Although Jayantha Ketagoda was appointed as the National List Member of Parliament for the Sri Lanka People’s Front, he resigned to allow Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa to enter Parliament.
