A dead body found in a luxurious vehicle in Southern Expressway

Aluthgama and Welipenna ASP Ramindu de Silva said that a man was found dead in a luxury jeep parked in the Welipenna service area on the Southern Expressway yesterday (31).

The deceased has been identified as Dinesh Jayaweera (45), a businessman and a civil engineer residing in Malabe. He is also reported to be a father of two.

 Police say it was recorded on a security camera mounted that this luxury jeep (30) enters the service area around 13.06 pm.

When the employees of the service area saw the jeep parked at that place since noon yesterday (31) and inquired about it.

He had seen a person in the back seat and talking but not waking up and he had been found dead after the person examined him smashing windscreen of the jeep .Then he had informed the police.

The cause of death has not been revealed yet and a team of officers including Welipenna OIC Chief Inspector Ananda Silva is conducting investigations on the instructions of Kalutara SSPs Kapila Primadasa, Nishan de Silva and ASP Ramindu de Silva.

The postmortem examination of the victim is scheduled to be conducted at the Nagoda Hospital in Kalutara today (1), a senior police officer said.
