Prof. Rohan Samarajeewa, Chairman, LearnAsia, emphasizes that hali arrack or kasippu, which has spread illegally throughout Sri Lanka, should be brought into the legal framework, branded and exported to foreign countries to earn foreign exchange for the country.

He points out that the Scottish whiskey industry existed before  as a illigal industry tthe world famous Scotch whiskey industry was started after the country brought this industry into a legal framework.

“Britain will earn 3. 3.8 billion from whiskey exports in 2020 alone. There will be a good demand for Dankotuwa Special. ”
