A girl has gone missing after falling from a Devon waterfall

Dimbula Police say a 19-year-old girl has gone missing after falling from a Devon waterfall.

The missing person is identified as 19 years old girl named Mani Pavithra and she is a resident of Lidula, St. Thomas’ Estate, Lidula.

Dimbula Police stated that the missing girl had come to visit the waterfall with her three friends on the 18th at around 1 pm. Her three friends had told the police that she had been swept away by the flood while trying to wash her feet in the Bowen canal.

Police suspect the missing girl may have fallen from a 297-foot-high Devon waterfall. The OIC of the Dimbula Pathana Police stated that the assistance of the Navy and the Sri Lanka Army has been requested to locate the missing girl.
