The Narcotics Bureau has arrested the cousin of “Charith Sandakelum” alias “Ranmalli”, a drug dealer currently in Dubai, Police Media Spokesman, Senior DIG Ajith Rohana stated.
The suspect was identified as Ranmalli’s wife’s brother.
The Narcotics Bureau also found Rs. 13.9 million were buried in a house in the Hiripitya area in Kottawa where the arrested person was staying temporarily.
It is alleged that Ranmalli was used as the suspect to carry out drug trafficking in Sri Lanka and to hide money earned from drug trafficking.
The arrested person has been taken to the Narcotics Bureau.
