Mahela Jayawardena said he cannot accept the post of head coach in the Sri Lankan National Cricket team.

Former captain of the Sri Lanka cricket team Mahela Jayawardena has stated that he cannot accept the post of head coach of the Sri Lanka national cricket team.

He points out that he is not ready to take over as the coach of the national cricket team in any country, not just in Sri Lanka, and that he does not have enough time to spend on it.

He also pointed that he has been coaching the Mumbai Indians for only three weeks and he was ready to assist as an advisor to the Sri Lanka national team.

However, he added that he was ready to work more with the under-19 team and he had already informed the authorities about his decision.
