Anusha Pelpita the Ministry Secretary to the Minister of Industrial Development has sent a letter to President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa stating that minister Wimal Weerawansa has no financial discipline and cannot follow the illegal orders given to him.

Accordingly, Anusha Pelpita has requested the President to allow him the opportunity to retire as he has decided not to continue in the public administration service.

The Secretary to the Ministry has informed the Minister that the implemental Sands project and the production of fertilizer using phosphate deposits could not be carried out in accordance with the existing rules.

There was a conflict of opinion between Minister Wimal Weerawansa and the Secretary.
