Meanwhile, it is reported from the Sources in the Prime Minister’s Office that the Leader of the Sri Lanka People’s Front, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa was also unaware of the announcement to resign Udaya Gammanpila.

Udaya Gammanpila also told the media that the party leader, the Prime Minister, had told him that he was not aware of the announcement.

Also, Leaders of other government parties have decided to question the Cabinet regarding the announcement made by the General Secretary of the Sri Lanka People’s Front.

The decision was taken by party leaders who met at Minister Wimal Weerawansa’s residence yesterday morning and the Cabinet is scheduled to convene this afternoon under the chairmanship of President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.
