Consumer Affairs Authority has issued an Extraordinary Gazette Notification

Importers, producers, warehouses, collectors and distributors of rice, sugar, milk powder and maize are required to register with the Consumer Affairs Authority within 07 days from the date of issuance of the gazette notification.

The gazette notification states that the importation, manufacture, storage, storage and distribution of the material without registration is prohibited.

However, the gazette notification further states that the law is not valid for farmers to store the paddy harvest obtained from the cultivated land.
