The Sri Lanka Public Health Inspectors Association has decided to withdraw from corona control duties in the Western Province.
The union says the decision was made in protest of the corona vaccine being given only to family members of doctors.
The secretary of the union also said that they were opposed to giving the corona vaccine only to the families of the doctors while the ground level employees of the health service were at great risk.
Accordingly, they said they would step down from corona control duties in the Western Province today.
