The Director-General of Health Services has confirmed that 44 deaths in Sri Lanka due to covid-19 infection.
That number is also the highest number of deaths reported in a single day and the Government Information Department said that the confirmation was made with the persons who died between May 2 and May 20.
Accordingly, the total number of deaths in the country has risen to 1,132.
